Rehabilitation of Irrigation Schemes

Activities

• Rehabilitation of main infrastructure;

• Rehabilitation of major pumping stations (supply and lift);

• Rehabilitation of on-farm irrigation facilities (WUAs' ownership+5% co-financing)

Objectives

• Rehabilitation of the main infrastructure on a 100,000 ha area;

• Rehabilitation of 20 main pumping stations serving a 400,000 ha area;

• Rehabilitation of the on-farm irrigation scheme for about 106 WUOs for an area of about 4 plots/WUAs.

Estimated Results

• Increase in the hydraulic and energetic efficiency;

• Reducing the operational and maintenance and repairs costs;

• Improvement in the water distribution.
